Pakistan fastball Shaheen Afridi took the top 16th place in his career, while veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and wicket-keeper striker Mohammad Rizwan also made big victories in the latest update of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 International (T20I) rankings the recently completed T20I series between New Zealand and Pakistan.
New Zealand opener Tim Seifert and fast bowler Tim Southee have achieved career-best positions after playing a key role in a 2-1 series victory over Pakistan.
Seifert has moved 24 slots to the best ninth position of his career after a fine home series run saw him top overall with 176 runs, while Southee's six wickets in the series lifted him from 13th to seventh.
Seifert, who was named a player in the series culminating in a career-bed 84, who didn't get out of 63 balls in the second game at Hamilton, previously had a top ranking of 32nd in August of this year.
Southee's six wickets, including four against 21 in the second game, made it possible for him to improve on the last last of the 10th position achieved in November last year. Southee has thus reached the top 10 in all three formats during his career, with the best career fourth in the test and not in the ODI.
Devon Conway (10 places up to 62nd) and Glenn Phillips (15 places up to 72nd career best) are the other New Zealand players who are higher on the fight list, while fastballs Scott Kuggeleijn have moved from 134th to 92nd place after the finish line with five wickets in the series.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Hafeez's 140 races, including an unbeaten 99 in the second race, saw him gain 14 places and reach 33rd position. Mohammad Rizwan's 158 runs, including 89 in the last game, have put him in 152 places in 158th place.
The Pakistani bowlers had more to cheer for, with Faheem Ashraf climbing 22 places to 13th position, Shaheen Afridi ranked 11th to reach a best 16th position in his career and Harif Rauf's five wickets in the series helped him place 42 to climb to 67. on diagram.
In the MRF Tires ICC Men's T20I team rankings, Pakistan lost three points and New Zealand three, but the two keep their fourth and sixth place respectively.
